Lovely new piece of work about going travelling by Giles Mead.
Makes us want to fly off to far flung places..
Cat O’Neil explains the inspiration behind her latest piece of work.
“I used to be quite an avid runner, but then work and teaching took over and I fell out of the habit. But I’ve recently rekindled my relationship with running (slowly…) so I thought I would make a piece celebrating the determination of female runners.
It’s odd to think that events like the Boston Marathon did not allow women to compete until 1972.
As an homage the illustration includes the iconic images of Bobbi Gibb (first woman to run the entire Boston Marathon), Betty Robinson (first track and field female gold medalist in Olympic history) and Wilma Rudolph (the first U.S. woman to win the Olympic sprint double and the first African American woman to win 3 gold medals).
Angela Keoghan‘s lovely illustration celebrates Wimbledon fortnight getting underway.
Let the Murray mania commence..
Ren’s illustration was inspired by Nadal’s surprise exit from Wimbledon yesterday.

Congratulations to Nate Kitch who has been announced as winner of the New Talent category of the AOI Illustration Awards.
Nate’s series illustrating case studies in Oliver Sach’s book, ‘The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat’.
The judges commented that “The use of metaphor, imagery and colour in this series of images is clever and subtle. There is a slight sliding out focus that hints at the disconnect between the conscious and unconscious mind which is central to the subject matter. The colour palette is great”.
Great stuff Nate, we are proud of you!
