William Shakespeare was baptised on this day in 1564 in Stratford-upon-Avon.
Shakespeare’s exact date of birth isn’t known, but is thought to be the 23rd April. Shakespeare also died on 23rd April, in 1616.
Rolf’s illustration is inspired by Hamlet, one of Shakespeare’s most famous plays.
