Nick Lowndes studied illustration at Stockport College (1991 to 1993) where he was awarded a HND Distinction before completing a degree in Illustration and Animation at The University of Manchester (1995 to 1996) with BA First Class Honours. Nick has been working as a freelance illustrator for the past 10 years. He is represented by Eastwing illustration agency and has worked for a variety of UK and US clients including The Times, The Guardian, The Financial Times, Adobe, Design Week, Barclays, New Scientist and a range of other publications.

Over the years Nick has transferred his original drawing, painting and collage techniques to a digital format, working today in Photoshop and Illustrator to enhance initial sketches, still often incorporating an element of collage into his work. His conceptual work displays a bold, iconic and graphic style and he has an array of influences including Picasso, Patrick Caulfield, Andre Francois, Matisse and Jean-Michel Basquiat to name just a few.
