Katarzyna Klein studied Graphic Design at St. Martin's School of Art from 1984 to 1987 after which she worked as a designer for various London based agencies before accepting a travel bursary to study at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Art in Poland for three months. On her return she freelanced for Marks and Spencer for six months before deciding to pursue a career in Illustration. Katarzyna teaches on several degree courses as well as freelancing as a textile designer, mainly producing work for the American market.

Much of her influence comes from her Polish heritage and her work has a naive, pattern based quality. She retains her interest in typography which is often reflected in her work as a fine artist painting onto pages of old books and manuscripts. Katarzyna exhibits her paintings on a regular basis.

Her clients include Harvey Nichols, HSBC, Art Angels, London Transport, Financial Times, and Orion Publishing.
