As a late comer to Illustration I graduated in 2000 from Manchester Metropolitan University aged 30. I've illustrated ever since, whilst also restoring dilapidated property, artworking, teaching and even at times Mystery Shopping. I'm currently studying Flash at college so that I can eventually animate my illustrations as I'm constantly searching for ways in which to move my work forward, finding creative inspiration all around me.
I avidly gather graphic information, always delight in the colours of an old Doris Day movie, and adore the simplicity of Anne Rochester's line illustrations, but overall I constantly find true beauty in ordinary things, and take great pleasure in illustrating observations from daily life.
My decade illustrating has seen commissions from, The Guardian, International Herald Tribune, Holland and Barrett and with regular contributions to Woman's Weekly and Midwives Magazine. I've also created children's character designs, in-store graphics, book covers and greetings cards.
